Pepper Lures

I have had a passion for collecting Joe Pepper lures for many years, starting in 1989 with my first purchase of three Bat Wings. The hunt has been fun and exciting and people I have met and have interacted with during the journey have made the hunt very pleasurable - some have become close friends. My thanks to the many who have helped me build my collection.

Early on I found that information on Pepper lures was very limited and it became frustrating to track down just what lures might be out there to find and when they were produced. That led me to write the book "The Peppers of Rome, NY" (see below) after several years of research. For those of you who have the book you will find some additional lures on this site. The longer I look the more lures show up that were never listed in any catalog that has been found.

This site is intended to be as complete a listing of all Pepper lures as possible - I have not however, attempted to show all the color and hook  combinations. I have tried to list each section in alphabetical order in order to make your search as easy as possible.

Should you have any lures not shown please contact me at
pepperjack@ftc-i.net. If you have any questions or comments on Pepper baits or anything on this site please email or call me.

If you own a lure you would like featured on this site please forward me a jpeg photo. If it is accepted for inclusion on the site I will be happy to give you credit if you so desire.

Of course I am always looking to add to my collection so if you have somthing to sell send me an email or give me a call.

Happy hunting,

Jack Gallagher

This 124 page book tracks the history of the Pepper family since arriving in America. It also covers the history of all three (lure, rod and net) companies from their inception. In addition it serves as an identification and price guide listing most Pepper lures plus additional information on each lure not covered on this website. There are many "tips" on how to identify Pepper baits and some of the unusual features found on them. There are eight color pages - including some baits not found on the website as I do not own them.

Book may be ordered directly from me at pepperjack@ftc-i.net. The cost is $25.00 plus $2.50 mailing. PayPal is fine or mail your check to Jack Gallagher, 107 Deertrail Ct., Manning, SC  29102.
